I want to help you get fit and really enjoy your workouts! The first place we have to start is to create a program for you that you enjoy and will want to continue doing. Most people over-exercise when they begin working out and then they become discouraged when they're really sore so they stop working out. As your personal trainer, I will help you regulate your progrm so you are progressing in ways that are right for you and your body. I'll help you create a proram that feels right so you'll stay with it, and I'll be right there with you to support you!
If you're experiencing any type of muscular imbalances and you're interested in correcting them, then MAT is for you!! Muscular imbalances can lead to knee pain, shoulder pain, hip pain etc. because when the muscular system experiences stress, trauma or overuse some muscles begin to lose their efficiency which creates compensation by other muscles in order to get the body from point A to point B. Muscle Activation Techniques (MAT) was developed by Greg Roskopf, Biomechanics Consultant for the Denver Broncos. As an MAT Specialist, I look at muscle tightness as a form of protection in the body. When the body doesn't feel stable, it tightens up to prevent injury. Muscular imbalances (instability) can create the need for other muscles to overwork in order to stabilize joints. MAT gets to the root of the pain or injury by addressing muscle weakness rather than muscle tightness which helps to restore normal body alignment, thereby, decreasing or eliminating pain.
